The Supporting caregivers with additional learning needs module has been designed to help practitioners put in place evidence‑informed practices with caregivers who have additional learning needs (ALN).

Learning styles and support practice makes sure caregivers with additional learning needs (ALN) can take part in, help decide, and benefit from the support they get through evidence-informed programs.

Task analysis is the process of breaking down skills or behaviours into smaller and more manageable steps. Task analysis helps caregivers with additional learning needs (ALN) learn new skills that help them achieve their priorities and goals.

Generalisation and maintenance involves supporting caregivers with additional learning needs (ALN) to maintain new skills over time, and transfer skills to new settings or situations.

Assertiveness and advocacy skills helps caregivers with additional learning needs (ALN) to speak up about something that matters to them, or their children.
